When building your business don’t hesitate to be unconventional and take advantage of the tools you have in ways they weren’t intended to remember all the good things you want to unearth as you move through the process. I originally wrote this post as a way to hold onto some images and colours that I was considering for this website. The palette I settled on ended up being an evolution of everything here, but brighter and more matched to my personality. In coming to that point though I wanted to hold on to a series of colour palettes and quickly be able to remind myself what it was I liked about them.
This palette holds all the elements of warm days on breezy beaches.
It calls to mind that deeply relaxing state where your brain can truly think, not just outside the box, but outside the parameters of what you think you should do to what you want to do.
These colours evoke a sense of blue sky brainstorming, and warm comfort.
This palette has a similar mid level blue but as a whole feels entirely different. A more earthy grounded palette but with a brightness of big sky thinking.
It speaks to letting yourself dream big, but connect those thoughts with your roots.
Think broadly and incorporate that into your reality.
Your colours will speak to you in one way, but potentially to your audience in another. The science of colour is explained in this great post at Elle and Co.
Do you have a favorite image? Something that you think personifies your business and your own unique style and personality, the try one of the online palette generators and see what combination of colours you can pull out of it. With tools like Adobe Color CC you can upload an image and instantly see the palette.
Whatever you do, explore, adapt and let the colours move you.
